Terms of use.
The short, plain-English version of the rules that govern using Fables.
Last updated: 2026-05-09
Fables is a product made by a small team of parents and storytellers ("we"). By using the service you ("you" — typically a parent or guardian using it with a child) agree to these terms.
What you can do
- Read editorial stories, free, forever.
- Create personalised stories with your family's characters.
- Print, save, share, or order keepsakes of stories you create.
What you can't do
- Generate content that targets, identifies, or could harm a real child other than your own.
- Use the service to produce hateful, sexually explicit, or extremely violent content.
- Resell or distribute generated content as if you were the creator of the underlying generation system.
Content ownership
You own the stories you make. We retain rights to the editorial library, the underlying tools, and the visual style. The characters you create are yours; you can export them at any time.
Generated content
Stories are generated by AI based on your inputs. We screen pages for age-appropriateness before they reach your child, but generation is statistical — sometimes a page misses the mark. You can regenerate any page, and reporting issues helps us improve.
Liability
Fables is provided "as is." We make no warranties about availability or outcomes. Read with your kid; use the stories you love; skip the ones that don't fit.
Changes
We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes will be announced inside the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
